The Energy Within

Energy is the foundation of everything that exists. It flows within us, through us, and all around us—life simply can’t exist without it. This life force moves through pathways in the body, nourishing organs and systems, and supporting our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Like humans, animals—and even plants and trees—have a natural ability to heal. But healing depends on a healthy flow of energy. When we experience physical or emotional trauma, anxiety, stress, or negativity, that energy flow can weaken or become blocked. These imbalances may then lead to illness and other issues within the body.

Animals communicate to us through body language and behavior, so it’s important to pay attention to anything out of the ordinary as this could be an indication something may be off.

What is Reiki?

Rei= Universal, Life Force

Ki= Energy

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing and spiritual practice that promotes overall well-being and supports the body’s natural ability to heal.

The foundation of Reiki is meditation, serving  as the way a practitioner grounds themselves, connecting deeply within to create a peaceful, compassionate space.

To animals, this space feels safe and familiar. It gives them an opportunity to relax fully into a calm, healing state, where they may otherwise have a difficult time doing so on their own.

Reiki was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and is now practiced worldwide.

Since Usui’s time, various Reiki lineages and methods have developed. I was trained in the Let Animals Lead® method, founded by Kathleen Prasad. Unlike other animal healing approaches, this method empowers animals to lead their own sessions in whatever way feels best for them. By encouraging agency and honoring their choice, it builds deeper trust between the animal, practitioner, and their human companion—strengthening their connection along the way.
